Course Title: Coaching Ethics: Foundations for Ethical Practice
Course Length: 3 Hours (Self-Paced)
ICF CCE Units: 3 Ethics

Course Description:
This 3-hour asynchronous course offers a deep dive into the most recent ICF Code of Ethics, equipping coaches with a solid ethical foundation for professional practice. Approved by the ICF, this course fulfills the Ethics requirement for credential renewal.

Through seven concise modules, you’ll explore the core values, principles, and standards that guide ethical coaching. Each module includes a brief quiz to reinforce your understanding, and you’ll complete a final Ethics Exam to solidify key concepts.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose of ethics in coaching and the ICF core values that support the Code.

  • Distinguish between the concepts of "Doing Good" vs. "Avoiding Harm" in ethical decision-making.

  • Interpret and apply each of the ICF Ethical Standards in real-world coaching contexts.

  • Know how ethical complaints are processed and managed within the ICF framework.

This course is fully self-directed—take it at your own pace. Upon completion:

  • Students should notify their mentor.

  • Credentialed coaches will receive a certificate for 3 ICF-approved CCE units in Ethics toward renewal.
